What Would You Tell Your Younger Self?

Intrigue

As we welcome a new year, we look forward to the future and the promise of what is to come.

On that note, we also are reflecting on some important lessons learned.

We hope you enjoy this highlight reel featuring local leaders answering the question: If you could go back, what would you tell your younger self?

What Would You Tell Your Younger Self?

Rob: If there was one thing that you’ve learned over the years that you could go back and tell yourself, what would it be?

Jeff MacIntyre from Screw Cancer: It’s just hair. If I would have known that I was going to look like this, I wouldn’t have worried about the parts and you know, whatever. I would have just done everything!

Rob: It’s just hair!

Christine McIver from Inspired Choices Network: Christine, you know more than you think you know. And if you would just trust yourself, just that much more, you got this.

Alex Hamilton from Intrigue: I’d probably just say, don’t study philosophy.

Amie Burke from Meridian: Take a deep breath. Don’t take everything so seriously. Don’t take it so personally. I think that’s probably what I’d tell myself.

Kevin Boon from Innovation Guelph: Find some good mentors.

Julia Christensen Hughes – Dean of College of Business & Economics, University of Guelph: Follow your passion.

Chris Henderson from BNE Contractors: I would go back and I’d be a little more diligent in picking people and realize that I couldn’t treat them like a commodity.

Chris Tiessen of Toque: You have got to be passionate about what you’re selling.
